Tikhanovskaya arrived in Kyiv on her first visit
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, the leader of the Belarusian opposition in exile, has arrived in the Ukrainian capital for a series of important meetings with the country’s top leadership.
The main goal of this historic trip is to launch a permanent political dialogue and institutionalize relations between Kyiv and Belarusian democratic forces.
Official confirmation of the start of the visit appeared on the morning of May 25 on the politician’s verified social media accounts.
The agenda for the Belarusian delegation’s stay in Ukraine includes talks at the highest state level, as well as important diplomatic events.
The opposition figure plans to discuss in detail the coordination of joint actions in countering Russian aggression and the current Minsk regime.
The parties will pay special attention to the issue of the legal status and safety of Belarusian volunteers fighting in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The visit will include meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybyga, the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada, EU diplomats, as well as the opening of the Mission of the Democratic Forces of Belarus in Ukraine,” Tikhanovskaya’s office told EuroPravda.
