In the Chernivtsi region, a man armed with a knife and a wrench attacked employees of the Traffic Control Center during an incident involving a service vehicle. Following the incident, he was detained and arrested.

This was reported with reference to the Facebook page of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

"Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Dnister District Prosecutor's Office, a 29-year-old local resident has been notified of suspicion of attempted murder of military personnel and hooliganism," the prosecutor's office stated.

According to the investigation, on April 20, near the village of Strumok in the Dnister District of Chernivtsi Oblast, a conflict arose between the man and two servicemen from the district military registration and enlistment office (aged 33 and 51) while he was being transported to the mobilization center.

Details of the attack

During the altercation, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed both victims several times in the neck. After the attack, the man also damaged the TCC’s official vehicle and struck one of the servicemen in the forearm with a wrench.

Both servicemen received timely medical attention, and their lives are currently not in danger. The suspect has been taken into custody.

The Ombudsmannamed the regions with the highest number of violations by the TCC.

On April 21, the Security Service of Ukraine detained servicemen from one of the regional territorial recruitment and social support centers in Odesa.

It is reported that the detention of the TCC representatives took place on Balkivska Street and involved a chase and gunfire.
