The "School Supplies Package" for 5,000 hryvnias is available again on Diia
The “Diya” app has once again opened applications for the “Schoolchild’s Package” government program, which provides a payment of 5,000 hryvnias to help prepare children for first grade.
The funds can be used to purchase books, stationery, school supplies, clothing, and shoes for the future first-grader.
An application can be submitted through the app by one of the parents, an official adoptive parent, or the child’s legal representative. Guardians of orphans and children deprived of parental care must apply in person at a service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
To apply for the payment online, you must log in to “Diya,” select the “Government Assistance” section, find the “School Supplies Package” service, fill out the application, and sign it using “Diya.Sign.” The funds will be credited to a special “Dii.Card” called “Care for the Child.”
Applications can also be submitted in person at the service centers of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
This was reported by “Diia.”
As a reminder, preparing a child for first grade in 2026 will cost parents an average of 2,400–2,500 UAH just for a basic set of school supplies. The largest portion of these expenses comes from purchasing a backpack.
Seasonal price reductions on vegetables are ongoing in Ukraine, which has affected the cost of ingredients for borscht. Over the past week, prices for potatoes, beets, carrots, and onions have fallen the most, while tomatoes, on the other hand, have become more expensive.
