In Dnipro, the administrator of a Telegram channel who leaked information about the Ukrainian Armed Forces was exposed
The Security Service of Ukraine has uncovered a case of unauthorized disclosure of information regarding the locations of the Armed Forces in Dnipro. The case involves the owner of a local Telegram channel who, according to the investigation, collected and published the coordinates of Ukrainian military personnel and law enforcement officers.
This was reported by the SBU.
The woman created a separate chat where users shared the geolocations of checkpoints and backup command posts of Ukrainian defenders in the region.
“Participants in the online community also ‘leaked’ the locations and movement routes of mobile law enforcement units and TCC staff in frontline cities of the region,” the statement said.
The investigation established that the collected data could have been used by Russia to prepare missile, drone, and artillery strikes on the Dnipropetrovsk region.
During a search of the suspect’s residence, law enforcement officers seized smartphones from which she administered the channel and disseminated classified information about Ukraine’s defense.
The woman has been notified of charges under the article regarding the unauthorized dissemination of data on the movement or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations.
She faces up to 8 years in prison. The investigation is ongoing, with investigators establishing all the circumstances and identifying possible accomplices.
