The State Border Guard Service has identified the best time to cross the border without waiting in line
With the start of the summer season, passenger traffic at the border has increased significantly, with the heaviest traffic being recorded at border crossings with Poland and Hungary. The State Border Guard Service advises travelers to plan their trips in advance and take into account traffic conditions on their routes.
This was announced by State Border Service spokesperson Andriy Demchenko.
According to him, the best time to cross the border is on weekdays and in the morning. That is when queues at most border crossing points are either nonexistent or minimal.
Over the past week, daily passenger traffic ranged from 113,000 to 118,000 border crossings, while over the weekend, the figures rose to 130,000–136,000. Traditionally, the heaviest traffic is on the border with Poland, through which about half of all travelers pass.
Significant lines have also been observed in recent days at the “Tisa” and “Luzhanka” checkpoints on the border with Hungary.
The State Border Guard Service advises travelers to check the current situation at border crossing points before traveling on the “Western Border” page, where information about lines is updated every three hours.
