In Ukraine, nearly 900 km of roads have already been protected by anti-drone systems

Ukraine is actively expanding anti-drone protection along roads in frontline regions. More than 887 kilometers of routes have already been equipped with systems designed to reduce the risk of drone attacks. The largest amount of work has been carried out in the Kherson region.

Ukraine continues to carry out large-scale fortification of road infrastructure in frontline regions by installing anti-drone defenses along key logistics routes. These include systems and structures designed to reduce the vulnerability of roads to enemy drone attacks and ensure safer transportation.

According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, more than 887 kilometers of such protective sections have already been installed in the country since the beginning of 2026. “More than 887 kilometers of roads in Ukraine have been equipped with anti-drone defenses,” Yulia Svyrydenko stated.

The largest amount of work has been carried out in the Kherson region, which remains one of the most vulnerable regions due to regular attacks by Russian drones. More than 207 kilometers of anti-drone protection have already been installed there along strategic routes. According to the government, special attention is being paid to roads connecting communities and key transportation corridors in Kherson itself, where the threat level remains high. “Over 207 kilometers of anti-drone defenses have already been installed on strategically important routes in the Kherson region,” the head of government noted.

The work is being funded by the state and local budgets, and the pace of infrastructure development is gradually increasing in line with the regions’ security needs. In addition, road resurfacing is continuing in parallel with the installation of anti-drone systems in frontline areas. Over 198 kilometers of roads were repaired in May and June.

The government emphasizes that such projects are part of a broader system to ensure the resilience of logistics during wartime, where the safety of transportation directly affects the functioning of communities and critical infrastructure. This was stated by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
