A representative of the company that built a luxury estate in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat for the family of Ukrainian pro-Russian politician Serhiy Lyovochkin is set to stand trial in France.
This was reported by Le Figaro.
The villa in question is worth approximately 40 million euros and, according to journalists, is linked to fugitive Ukrainian lawmakers.
The investigation found that serious violations of the law and environmental standards may have occurred during construction. In particular, work was carried out without the necessary permits from local authorities.
Among the incidents was the expansion of a swimming pool using explosives. According to case materials, dynamite was used without authorization, and the explosives themselves were stored on the property without proper supervision.
There are also reports of illegal tree felling and prolonged work without official permission between 2014 and 2016.
Law enforcement became interested in the site in 2021, and during a search in 2023, according to media reports, explosives that had not been removed after construction were found on the premises.
The case will be heard on March 23 in the Nice Criminal Court.
