In Kyiv, a 34-year-old man was notified of his status as a suspect in a case involving extortion and the acceptance of improper benefits in exchange for assistance in obtaining a fraudulent disability status.

This was reported by the Holosiivskyi District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv.

According to the investigation, the man posted an ad on the OLX website offering to assist conscripts in being removed from military registration and obtaining a fictitious disability. He claimed to have connections among medical staff on expert teams and officials of the military medical commissions of the Territorial Military Commissariat and the Special Forces.

For his “services,” the suspect received $9,000, after which he was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

During a search of the detainee’s vehicle, an F-1 combat grenade was discovered. The man was also notified of his status as a suspect in the illegal handling of ammunition.

Earlier in the Vinnytsia region, a medical couple—a mother and son—were exposed for organizing a scheme to sell fake disability certificates. According to the investigation, they demanded $3,000 for each certificate issued. During searches, law enforcement officers seized over $200,000 and 350,000 UAH in cash.

Officers from the State Bureau of Investigations, in cooperation with the State Border Guard Service, detained and charged a border guard from the Dnipropetrovsk region who, in exchange for bribes, helped conscripts evade mobilization by issuing fake disability certificates.
