A possible case of tuberculosis was detected at a high school in Kamianets-Podilskyi
At Lyceum No. 7 in Kamianets-Podilskyi, anti-epidemic measures were implemented and students were screened following reports of a possible case of tuberculosis among the school’s staff.
Oleg Tchaikovsky, head of the district department of the Khmelnytsky Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention, confirmed that a staff member at the school had indeed contracted the disease. According to him, the illness was detected back in August during a medical examination, before the start of the school year.
The facility was disinfected, close contacts were identified, and family doctors were notified. Children are undergoing Mantoux tests and other necessary examinations in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Health.
At the same time, the city’s Department of Education and Science states that it has no reliable information regarding a confirmed diagnosis. Yulia Sabat, deputy head of the department, reported that the employee is currently undergoing additional testing and has not been allowed to return to work.
According to her, the woman has not been at work since September 1 and is on sick leave. She also confirmed that preventive measures are being taken and that the children are being examined, as the employee had previously been in contact with students.

Italian health authorities attribute the spread of the infection to new areas and the extended transmission season to rising temperatures and longer periods of warm weather.
