In Lviv, a Porsche driver struck a traffic light and fled the scene of the accident
In Lviv, the driver of a Porsche crashed into a traffic light, causing the structure to fall onto the road. After the accident, the driver left the car and walked away from the scene. Law enforcement officials are working to identify him.
The accident occurred on July 12 at the intersection of Stusa Street and Zalizna Voda Park; the driver struck a traffic light pole. The impact caused it to fall onto the roadway.
“As a result of the accident, traffic, pedestrian, and tram traffic lights, as well as the cable and wiring network, were damaged. Due to the extensive damage, restoring the traffic light system will take more time, so repair work will continue tomorrow, and we will be sure to notify you when it is completed. We are also preparing an estimate of the damages incurred for subsequent reimbursement by the party at fault for the traffic accident,” reported LKP “Lvivavtodor.”
The Lviv Region Patrol Police clarified that the driver of a Porsche was at fault for the accident. After the collision, the driver fled the scene, taking one set of license plates with him. He lost the other set in the collision, but patrol officers found them.
This traffic accident was classified as a case under investigation, so it is unknown whether the driver was intoxicated. The patrol police press office added that after the accident, a woman approached the police officers and attempted to pass herself off as the driver.
The offender’s vehicle was towed to a special impound lot.
