A large-scale forest fire covering 250 hectares is being extinguished in the Polissya Nature Reserve
Efforts to extinguish a large forest fire are ongoing in the Polissya Nature Reserve in Zhytomyr Oblast. As of this evening, rescue workers, together with forestry employees, have managed to contain the fire over an area of approximately 250 hectares.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (Telegram).

In the Polissya Reserve, the State Emergency Service is fighting a large-scale forest fire covering 250 hectares.
According to rescue workers, the fire is not currently spreading, but smoldering of deadwood, trees, and forest litter continues in some forest sections. To contain the fire in hard-to-reach marshy terrain, State Forest Guard employees used backfiring.

In the Polissya Nature Reserve, the State Emergency Service is extinguishing a large-scale forest fire covering an area of 250 hectares.
Sappers have also been brought in to survey specific areas of the territory to safely create firebreaks, and the situation is being monitored using drones.
The State Emergency Service notes that the situation is under control, and firefighting operations are ongoing.
