A plot of land under a demolished building was sold in Ternopil for 6 million hryvnias

A 0.4-hectare plot of land located at 8 Stusa Street in Ternopil—where a house that had been destroyed by a Russian missile once stood—was sold at auction

The winning bidder was the limited liability company “Grand Prostir, which offered 6 million hryvnias for the lot.

The auction took place on June 26 on the “Prozorro.Sales” platform after members of the Ternopil City Council approved the decision to put the land up for auction.

The starting price for the plot was 4.8 million hryvnias, but during the bidding war, a firm from Kamianske in the Dnipropetrovsk region significantly raised the bid.

The winner’s main competitor was Ternopil-based entrepreneur Yulia Kovalskaya, who stopped at 4.89 million hryvnias. The parties are currently in the process of signing the corresponding purchase and sale agreement.

According to the YouControl analytical system, the company “Grand Prostir” was registered just three months ago with a statutory capital of 50,000 UAH.

Its owner is Serhiy Gorbannenko, who previously served as head of the State Environmental Supervision Department in the Dnipropetrovsk region and practiced law.

When asked by journalists about plans for the acquired land, a company representative gave an evasive answer, promising to provide comments later via email.

It is known that, according to the terms of the auction, the new owner is obligated to use the land exclusively for its intended purpose, namely, to construct a new high-rise building and develop the surrounding area.

The Ternopil city government is considering the option of transferring the proceeds from the sale to residents who lost their homes as a result of a missile strike.

In January 2026, Deputy Mayor Vladislav Stemkovsky noted: “This will be additional financial support. It is one of the options. But I am not ready to say what the final decision will be.”
