In Vinnytsia, people dragged a military police officer out of his car and beat him

In Vinnytsia, several people blocked an official vehicle belonging to the Territorial Defense Command and the Special Forces, pulled a soldier out of it, and beat him. The victim was taken to the hospital; his condition is reported to be satisfactory. Law enforcement officials are investigating the circumstances of the incident and identifying those who may be involved.

The incident occurred on the outskirts of Vinnytsia. According to preliminary information from the Vinnytsia Regional Territorial Recruitment and Military Service Center, the official vehicle—which was carrying servicemen from one of the territorial recruitment centers and a person subject to military service—was blocked by several civilian cars. Afterward, a group of people got out of the vehicles. They pulled one of the TCC servicemen out of the service vehicle and beat him.

The Recruitment Center stated that the serviceman sustained significant bodily injuries. He was taken to a hospital, where he is currently under medical supervision. “According to preliminary information, as the official vehicle carrying servicemen from one of the Military Registration and Enlistment Offices and the Joint Staff of the Vinnytsia region, along with a conscript, was leaving the city, its path was blocked by several civilian vehicles,” the Vinnytsia Regional Military Registration and Enlistment Office and Joint Staff reported.

According to the military registration and enlistment office, after the vehicle was blocked, a group of people pulled one of the servicemen out and inflicted bodily injuries on him. The victim is currently in the hospital. The Military Registration and Enlistment Office reported that his condition is satisfactory. Law enforcement officers are working at the scene. They are determining exactly what happened and identifying the individuals who may have participated in the attack.

The TCC separately emphasized that the other servicemembers who were part of the alert team had previously participated in combat operations. “The other servicemembers who were part of the alert team took part in combat operations in 2022–2023 and voluntarily stood up to defend the state and its citizens, from whom they suffered physical violence today,” stated the Vinnytsia Regional TCC and Joint Staff.

At the same time, law enforcement authorities have yet to determine all the circumstances of the conflict. So far, only the fact of the attack and the injury to a servicemember have been officially reported. There is also no detailed information yet regarding the causes of the conflict or the actions of each participant in the incident. Law enforcement must determine exactly who blocked the official vehicle, who directly used force, and what preceded the attack.

Similar conflicts between TCC service members and civilians have recently attracted significant attention. However, in each specific case, the circumstances and the responsibility of the participants must be determined separately. It is currently known that the service member was hospitalized after being beaten; his condition is satisfactory, and law enforcement officials are continuing to investigate the incident. This was reported by the Vinnytsia Regional TCC and SP.
