Ukraine has received aircraft from the Czech Republic for pilot training in accordance with NATO standards
Ukraine has received 10 ALTO NG light-engine training aircraft as part of international aid from the Czech government and Czech citizens, which will help strengthen the training of military pilots and expand the country’s training infrastructure.
The new aircraft were provided as part of support from the Czech Republic and the charitable initiative “Dárek pro Putina.”
The delivery consists of two parts:
- 5 aircraft were transferred with direct support from the Czech government;
- Another 5 aircraft were provided as charitable aid from Czech citizens through the Dárek pro Putina foundation.
The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that the arrival of these aircraft will make it possible to:
- deploy a full-fledged training base in Ukraine;
- significantly reduce the cost per flight hour compared to combat aircraft;
- accelerate the training of Ukrainian pilots for the transition to modern Western aircraft in accordance with NATO standards.
On the ALTO NG aircraft, Ukrainian pilots will practice basic and advanced piloting skills, navigation, as well as takeoff and landing procedures in accordance with NATO standards.
Fedorov thanked the Air Power Capabilities Coalition, the Czech government, and the citizens of the Czech Republic for their contribution to strengthening Ukrainian aviation training.
The transfer of the aircraft took place as part of international solidarity and is aimed at training a new generation of Ukrainian military pilots.
This was announced by Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
