Ukraine will allocate €3.47 billion in EU funding for air defense, drones, and missile programs
Ukraine will use the 3.47 billion euros received from the European Union under the Ukraine Support Loan program to finance key defense needs.
The funds will be used to strengthen air defense, aviation capabilities, drone production, the development of missile programs, and the defense industry.
This was announced by Acting Minister of Defense Yevhen Khmara. According to him, operational support from partners directly impacts Ukraine’s ability to protect its population and counter Russian aggression.
Khmara noted that during the most recent massive attack, Russia deployed approximately 70 missiles and more than 280 drones, which is why strengthening air defense and developing Ukraine’s own defense production remain priorities.
He also thanked the European Commission, EU member states, European Commissioner Andrius Kubilius, and EU High Representative Kaja Kallas for their support, emphasizing that these funds strengthen the security not only of Ukraine but of all of Europe.

On July 30, the European Union transferred another financial tranche of 3.47 billion euros to Ukraine. The funds will be used to support the country’s defense capabilities and finance priority state needs amid a full-scale war.
The European Union plans to provide Ukraine with 920 million euros to restore and strengthen its energy infrastructure ahead of the winter season. This was announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
