Ukraine and Latvia have signed an agreement on drones — Zelenskyy
During his visit to Estonia for the Nordic-Baltic Eight Summit, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held his first meeting with Latvia’s new Prime Minister, Andris Kulbergs.
During the talks, the parties signed a cooperation agreement on unmanned systems, known as the Drone Deal.
According to Zelenskyy, the document provides for strengthening joint defense and developing co-production. He also emphasized that Ukraine’s experience in the field of unmanned technologies will help strengthen the defense capabilities of its partners.
The President noted that such systematic cooperation is developing with countries that have consistently supported Ukraine throughout the years of the war.
In addition, during the meeting, they discussed Ukraine’s needs in the field of air defense and further strengthening of sanctions pressure on Russia. In particular, they discussed additional restrictions on Russia’s “shadow fleet.”
Zelenskyy thanked Latvia for its support of Ukraine and the assistance the country has provided since the start of the full-scale war.
