Ukraine and Saudi Arabia are set to sign a strategic agreement on aviation security
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a surprise visit to Saudi Arabia to hold strategic talks with the Kingdom’s leadership.
Bloomberg reports this.
The main goal of the trip is to sign a cooperation agreement on aviation security, which involves exchanging Ukrainian combat experience for Western defense technologies.
Ukraine aims to offer its unique experience in combating Iranian “Shahed”-type drones, which Russia is using en masse to attack Ukrainian cities.
In return, Kyiv expects increased defense support, particularly regarding the supply of scarce missiles for air defense systems.
According to a high-ranking official, “Ukraine is preparing to sign an air security agreement with Saudi Arabia,” which will mark a new phase of military-technical cooperation.
In an announcement regarding his arrival in Jeddah, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of consolidating efforts to stabilize the region.
The head of state emphasized that Kyiv is open to deep cooperation with countries that share its security priorities.
“We value support and provide assistance to those who are ready to cooperate with us on security issues,” he noted in an official statement.
As a reminder, Ukraine and the U.S. have differing views on the Kremlin’s readiness to end the war.
Russia has also blackmailed the U.S., demanding that it stop sharing intelligence with Ukraine.
