On August 20, Ukraine will experience rain and thunderstorms amid temperatures reaching 34 degrees

On Thursday, August 20, Ukraine is expected to see variable cloud cover, with heavy rain and thunderstorms in some areas, and daytime temperatures rising to 34°. In Kyiv, forecasters predict temperatures of 28–30°.

 

No precipitation is expected across Ukraine, with only the northern part of the country and the Carpathians seeing brief showers and thunderstorms in some areas during the day. The wind will be from the southwest at 7–12 m/s, with gusts of 15–20 m/s in some areas during the day in most western and northern regions. Temperatures will range from 11–16° at night and 25–30° during the day, reaching up to 34° in the southwest of the country.

On Thursday, August 20, Kyiv will see variable cloudiness with no precipitation; only during the day will there be brief showers and thunderstorms in some parts of the region. The wind will be from the southwest at 7–12 m/s. Temperatures across the region will range from 11 to 16° at night and 25 to 30° during the day; in Kyiv, temperatures will range from 14 to 16° at night and 28 to 30° during the day.

According to data from the Boris Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory, the average monthly air temperature in Kyiv in July was 20.8°C, which is 0.5°C below the climatic norm.

The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued a warning about heat reaching 38° and a fire hazard.
