Ukrzaliznytsia has changed its rules for booking group tickets
Ukrzaliznytsia has updated the procedure for booking trips for organized groups of passengers. From now on, requests to reserve group tickets can be submitted via an online service; however, ticket processing and pickup will continue to take place at specialized railway ticket offices.
The new rules apply to organized groups of 10 or more people traveling on the same route for a single purpose. Travel agencies, legal entities, and individuals can use this service.
Applications must be submitted between 35 and 10 days before the train’s departure. Seats will be allocated after ticket sales open: 20 days before departure for regular passenger trains and 10 days before departure for “Intercity” trains.
After the order is confirmed, the applicant will receive a payment receipt via email. The reservation fee must be paid within two days, after which the confirmation must be uploaded to the system. Failure to do so will result in the reservation being automatically canceled.
The reservation fee is 130 UAH per adult passenger or student and 60 UAH per child under 18 and passengers eligible for discounts.
Although you can submit your request online, the tickets themselves will only be issued at designated ticket offices. To do this, you must submit an application and a group list in duplicate, including the group leader’s information, the first and last names of all passengers, the ID numbers of those eligible for discounts, and the full dates of birth for all children.
Ukrzaliznytsia also reminded passengers that when boarding, children under 16 must have a document confirming their age. This can be a birth certificate, a notarized copy of the birth certificate, or a foreign passport.
Ukrzaliznytsia is launching new regional trains between Kyiv and Korosten.
As a reminder, Ukrzaliznytsia signed a contract with PJSC “Kryukiv Railway Car Building Works” for the manufacture of 92 new passenger cars. Of the ordered rolling stock, 83 units are compartment cars that can be operated in both compartment and SV (standard) configurations, while the remaining nine will be equipped with barrier-free compartments. Deliveries under this contract will take place between 2027 and 2028.
Ukrzaliznytsia has changed the route of three trains passing through Stryi.
