Umerov held talks with Trump's son-in-law — The Guardian

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that talks had taken place over the past two days between National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov and Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The head of state made this statement while speaking with journalists at the site where cleanup efforts were underway following Russian shelling in the Darnytskyi district of the capital. Zelenskyy noted that he still hopes for a future visit to Ukraine by Kushner and Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff, despite the fact that U.S.-backed peace efforts to end the war have been at a standstill for several months.

In addition, the head of state expressed hope for a face-to-face meeting with Donald Trump. According to the president, such talks could take place on the sidelines of the NATO summit, which is scheduled for next week in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
