The government does not plan to raise electricity prices for residential customers in 2026

Serhiy Nahorniak, a member of parliament and member of the Parliamentary Committee on Energy, Housing, and Utilities, announced that electricity rates for residential consumers will remain unchanged.

According to the lawmaker, the Cabinet of Ministers currently has no plans to revise existing rates until the end of this year.

At present, there is no urgent need within government circles to change pricing for the public, despite the challenging conditions facing the industry.

“Regarding electricity prices for the public, according to my information, the government does not plan to revise prices this year,” Serhiy Nahorniak emphasized.

This statement was a response to numerous forecasts by analysts who had previously suggested the possibility of price increases in the near future.

Previous estimates by energy experts were based on the need to accumulate funds for restoring damaged infrastructure and preparing for upcoming heating seasons.

Experts noted that the market cost of electricity generation significantly exceeds the subsidized rate paid by households.
