The government has allocated nearly 939 million hryvnias for Ukrnafta projects with support from Finland
The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated nearly 939 million hryvnias for the development of distributed gas-fired power generation in Ukraine. The funding is being provided through the Finnish-Ukrainian Investment Fund.
This was announced by Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal.
According to him, the funds will be used to support projects by Ukrnafta, which is actively developing gas-fired power generation using its own gas production.
Specifically, the projects involve the installation of gas-piston power plants in two regions:
up to 40 MW of capacity in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast;
up to 20 MW of capacity in Lviv Oblast.
It is expected that the implementation of these projects will strengthen the energy resilience of the regions and contribute to the development of distributed generation amid the war.

Ukraine could receive its first billion euros in proceeds from frozen Russian assets as early as July of this year, said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Frozen Russian assets should be used not only for reconstruction but also for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine, said Latvian Foreign Minister Krišjānis Kariņš.
