Ivano-Frankivsk to raise public transportation fares
Ivano-Frankivsk has approved updated fares for public transportation operated by the municipal enterprise "Elektroavtotrans." The new rates will take effect on April 16, 2026. Fares for private carriers will remain unchanged.
This was announced in a decision by the city council’s executive committee.
The base fare for public transit will be 25 UAH per trip. A 20% discount will apply when paying by bank card or via QR code—the fare will be 20 UAH.
Even more favorable conditions are provided for users of the “Galka” transit card—a trip will cost 15 UAH and include a free transfer within 30 minutes. For students, the fare will be 12 UAH with the same transfer option.
A monthly unlimited pass for “Galka” cardholders will cost 750 UAH, and 600 UAH for students. The cost of the transport card itself will be 55 UAH.
For riding without a ticket or non-payment, inspectors will issue a fine of 400 UAH.
A separate fare has been set for private carriers—20 UAH—which remains unchanged following the previous increase.
Discounted fares remain available with a valid ID or “Galka” card. On public transit, eligible passengers must register their trip. Time restrictions apply on private buses: up to three discounted seats are available before 10:00 a.m. and after 4:00 p.m.; during daytime hours, discounted fares are available without restrictions.
Students can use public transportation for free from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on school days with a student ID or a “Galka” card.
As a reminder, cities in the Mykolaiv region are adopting different approaches to public transportation pricing amid economic challenges.
