The High Anti-Corruption Court has postponed the hearing of Iryna Mudra's case
On August 25, the High Anti-Corruption Court will resume consideration of the issue of a preventive measure for Iryna Mudriy, the former deputy head of the Presidential Office. The defense did not have time to finish its arguments, after which the court scheduled a continuation of the hearing for 8:00 a.m.
The case began last week, but the hearing was postponed at the defense’s request due to the suspect’s deteriorating health. On August 24, the High Anti-Corruption Court resumed the hearing.
Prosecutors are insisting on pretrial detention with the option of posting bail of 150 million hryvnias. The defense attorneys, however, argue that there are no grounds for applying any preventive measure.
Iryna Mudra is a suspect in the NABU case “Forest Gump,” which involves the laundering of 150 million hryvnias to post bail for a suspect in another case—“Midas.” Mudra herself had previously stated that she was ready to answer all the investigators’ questions.
