A police officer and employees of the Traffic Control Center were arrested in Odessa in connection with a case involving the extortion of $30,000

A court in Odesa has imposed a preventive measure on a police officer and four employees of the Traffic Control Center who are suspected of extorting $30,000 from a man who had been called up for military service.

This was reported by the media.

According to the investigation, the suspects in the case kidnapped the man, used physical force and threats against him, and demanded money to “resolve the issue” regarding his mobilization.

The court remanded all suspects in custody for 60 days without the right to bail.

They are charged with serious crimes punishable by up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

On April 21, the Security Service of Ukraine detained military personnel from one of the regional territorial recruitment and social support centers in Odesa.

It is reported that the detention of the TCC representatives took place on Balkivska Street and involved a chase and gunfire.
