In Ukraine, battery stations have been designated as critical infrastructure

The government has updated the list of critical infrastructure sectors to include energy storage systems. The changes allow battery stations to be classified as critical infrastructure, which is expected to strengthen the security and stability of the country’s power grid.

Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on Telegram on May 21.

According to him, this decision allows for strengthening their protection and improving the resilience of the power grid as a whole.

He noted that energy storage systems are actively developing, especially in the context of constant Russian attacks on the energy sector.

Ukraine currently has energy storage systems with a total capacity of over 500 MW installed, and technical specifications have been issued for the installation of an additional 1,000 MW.

"Our goal is to protect such facilities as much as possible," Shmyhal added.

In Berlin, Shmyhal spoke about a turbine from the Nord Stream infrastructure.

As a reminder, the enemy is deploying small assault groups in the border area instead of sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

The State Border Guard Service also reported a decrease in the activity of enemy DRGs.
