The weather in Ukraine is set to change dramatically: some areas will see temperatures of up to 30° on September 11, while others will get colder
On Friday, September 11, a cold front will sweep across Ukraine, causing temperatures to drop significantly in a number of regions. At the same time, the south and east will still enjoy nearly summer-like warmth—with temperatures reaching up to +30° in some places.
It will be coolest in the west of the country, where daytime highs are expected to reach only +15...+19°. Cooler air will also reach the north, particularly the Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions.
The cold snap will also affect the Kharkiv, Poltava, and Vinnytsia regions. Maximum temperatures in these regions will be around +19...+23°.
Rain will move across Ukraine along with the front. Overnight, precipitation is forecast for the northeast and in some parts of the Kyiv and Cherkasy regions. During the day, rain will fall in most western regions and in the Kharkiv region. Heavy precipitation and thunderstorms are possible in Zakarpattia and Prykarpattia.
Meanwhile, in the south, east, and Dnipropetrovsk region, the heat will not subside just yet. Temperatures there are expected to reach +25...+30° on September 11.
In Kyiv on Friday, the temperature will be around +23° with no significant precipitation. However, as early as Saturday, September 12, the capital will see a sharp deterioration in the weather: heavy rain is possible in the morning, and daytime temperatures will reach only +14...+15°.
However, the cold snap will be short-lived. On Sunday, a high-pressure system will bring drier weather, and temperatures in the west, north, and center will rise to 20–24°C. It will be warmer again in the south and east—around 25–30°C.
According to Natalka Didenko, the weather will remain changeable in the coming days, with temperatures ranging from +15° to +30°.
