A new generation of FPV drones has been tested in Ukraine
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, in collaboration with the Brave1 cluster, conducted tests at a training ground of new strike FPV drones from eight domestic manufacturers.
This was announced by Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, who noted that Serhiy Sternenko, an advisor on UAV effectiveness, is also working on the development of this type of drone.
During the tests, the drones successfully covered distances of up to 25 km and struck targets under conditions of intense electronic warfare (EW) activity. Some of the solutions presented fully accomplished their tasks in scenarios as close as possible to real-world engagements with Russian forces. To expedite the delivery of equipment to the front lines, the government has streamlined procurement procedures and revised its approach to determining requirements, allocating 80% of resources to battle-tested solutions.
According to Fedorov, a separate testing methodology has been developed for each class of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), involving all manufacturers whose products do not yet have government contracts. If a drone’s effectiveness is confirmed at the testing range, the process of contracting it and scaling up production begins immediately. This system allows for the rapid implementation of new technologies and ensures that the Armed Forces are equipped with the most effective means of striking the aggressor.
