Ukrenergo has announced whether there will be a power outage on July 4

Ukrenergo has announced whether there will be a power outage on July 4

On Saturday, July 4, there are no plans to implement power outage schedules in Ukraine. At the same time, Ukrenergo is urging consumers to use high-power electrical appliances primarily during the day to avoid overloading the power grid in the evening.

There will be no scheduled power outages in Ukraine on July 4. Despite the absence of restrictions, energy officials are asking Ukrainians to use electricity responsibly. First and foremost, they recommend running washing machines, water heaters, air conditioners, and other high-power appliances between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. This is when solar power plants generate the most electricity, so the load on the grid is lower.

In contrast, in the evening—from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.—consumption traditionally spikes. For this reason, Ukrenergo is asking that, whenever possible, people avoid running multiple energy-intensive appliances at the same time and shift their use to daytime hours. “We ask that you shift the use of high-power electrical appliances to the period from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., when solar power plants operate most efficiently,” the company emphasized.

Ukrenergo also noted that the situation in the power grid may change. If restrictions need to be imposed, additional announcements will be made. As a reminder, power outage schedules were reinstated the day before due to a sharp increase in electricity consumption. The cause was a severe heat wave, which led Ukrainians to turn on their air conditioners en masse. According to energy experts’ estimates, the load on the system increased by at least 25%.

In addition to the heat, the power grid’s operation is affected by scheduled equipment maintenance, the restoration of facilities damaged by Russian attacks, and a reduction in electricity imports. Energy officials emphasize that even in the absence of rolling blackouts, conserving energy helps maintain the stability of the power grid and reduces the risk of restrictions being imposed if the load increases. This was reported by Ukrenergo.
