The High Anti-Corruption Court sentenced the former head of "Poltavapalyvo" to prison
The High Anti-Corruption Court found the former acting director of the municipal enterprise “Poltavapalyvo” guilty of abuse of office, which caused millions of dollars in losses to the local community in Poltava Oblast.
The court sentenced the defendant to 3 years and 4 months in prison, barred him from holding leadership positions, and fined him.
According to law enforcement officials, on June 5, the High Anti-Corruption Court handed down a verdict to the former acting director of the municipal enterprise “Poltavapalyvo.”
He was found guilty of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
In addition to imprisonment, the court ruled to bar him from holding positions related to organizational, managerial, administrative, and economic functions for a period of one year and to impose a fine of 8,500 hryvnias.
The investigation established that in 2020, the head of the enterprise, without the approval of the Poltava Regional Council and in violation of the enterprise’s charter, transferred municipal property to a private company.
This involved the transfer of six production buildings, utility structures, and real estate properties in Poltava, Kremenchuk, and Lubny, as well as property in the Kozelshchyna, Mashiv, and Reshetylivka districts.
According to the documents, the property was transferred for 1.8 million UAH; however, an expert appraisal determined that its actual value was 14.5 million UAH.
Thus, due to the official’s unlawful actions, the local community suffered losses amounting to 12.7 million hryvnias.
The National Police noted that the High Anti-Corruption Court’s ruling may be appealed within 30 days of its announcement.
Once the appeal period expires, the decision will become final if no appeal is filed.
This is stated in a report on the National Police website.
