Video: Zelenskyy Announced Important Decisions Regarding the Military
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held meetings with experienced military commanders, during which they discussed the situation on the front lines. The parties also reviewed the future strategy for conducting the war and decisions regarding the development of the army.
According to the president, reports on the current situation in specific sectors and the overall course of hostilities were presented by commanders well-known in military circles—Mykhailo Drapatiy, Volodymyr Horbatyuk, and Oleg Apostol.
The main goal of these consultations is to formulate an effective plan of action that will compel the aggressor country to accept peace terms satisfactory to Ukraine.
Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of the perspective of those who are directly commanding troops on the ground:
“It is important to assess our future strategy and our active measures to compel Russia to end this war with a peace that is dignified for Ukraine and guarantees our security. This involves various components, and I want to hear how the commanders and leaders of Ukraine’s Defense and Security Forces view this.”
The head of state also announced that “key discussions” would take place tomorrow and assured that Ukraine would certainly achieve its goals.
On the night of July 19, Russian troops launched a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv. One person was killed and eight others were wounded as a result of the attack. Damage and fires were reported in five districts of the capital.
Throughout the day on July 17, Russian troops struck Kharkiv and 29 other settlements in the Kharkiv region. Two people were killed and 18 others were injured in the shelling; among the victims were five children.
Throughout the day on July 17, the Chernihiv region came under attack from enemy drones. Fires broke out in several districts at once, but Ukrainian rescue workers have already extinguished them.
