Video: Zelenskyy Showcases Ukraine's Latest Weapons on Independence Day
On Ukraine’s Independence Day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy showcased modern Ukrainian weapons and military equipment.
This year, instead of the traditional military parade, the latest developments from the Ukrainian defense industry were showcased in downtown Kyiv and on the Dnipro River.
Ground-based robotic systems drove down Khreshchatyk Street, Ukrainian aircraft and drones flew overhead, and maritime drones cruised along the Dnipro River. Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine has sufficient domestic technology and resources to defend its independence.
The president noted that over the years of full-scale war, the Ukrainian army and the defense-industrial complex have developed technologies that are already being actively used on the battlefield. In particular, tens of thousands of ground-based robotic systems are operating on the front lines.
They carry out combat, logistical, and evacuation missions, helping the military operate in the most dangerous areas.

Zelenskyy specifically highlighted Ukrainian maritime drones, which have become a key element in the naval campaign and are used to strike Russian military targets and ships.
According to the president, once the war ends, Ukraine will be able to serve as a security partner for its allies, sharing the experience and technology it has gained while confronting Russian aggression.
As a reminder, on the night of August 16, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out strikes against a number of key military facilities belonging to Russian forces in the temporarily occupied territories.
On the night of August 17, the Ukrainian military struck targets related to the storage, preparation, and launch of attack drones, as well as their control systems in Crimea and the Kherson region.
