Soldier sentenced to 7 years after fleeing to SZCH following mistaken payment of 2.4 million UAH
A serviceman was sentenced to seven years in prison after a mistaken payment of 2.4 million hryvnias was credited to his card and he fled to a Special Zoned Center (SZCH). All his property was confiscated, and he must also repay the military unit 868,000 hryvnias spent by him.
This case highlights the serious consequences for unlawful enrichment, even when payment errors occur. The soldier not only lost his freedom but also forfeited his property, which he must restore by reimbursing the incurred damages.
