Those responsible for assaulting a veteran—representatives of the Kyiv Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support—are to be sent to the front lines
The Army Command has reached a decision regarding those responsible for the incident involving a veteran in Kyiv. They are to be transferred to combat units.
This was reported on the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Ground Forces.
“Information is circulating online regarding an incident involving a war veteran and representatives of the Territorial Defense and Civil Protection Service of the Shevchenkivskyi District of Kyiv. During the conduct of alerting measures, a conflict arose between a servicemember of the Territorial Defense and Civil Protection Service of Kyiv and war veteran Artem Moroz. The servicemember used physical force, which in this case cannot be justified under any circumstances,” the statement reads.
The police have initiated criminal proceedings regarding the unlawful actions of the TCC and SP servicemember. Based on this incident, the Shevchenkivskyi Police Department has entered the information into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The victim was given a referral for a forensic medical examination to determine the severity of the bodily injuries sustained.
The command, in turn, has already made a decision: the guilty parties will continue their service in combat units.
“The leadership of the Kyiv MTCC and SP is in constant contact with the affected veteran. Officials categorically do not support such actions by personnel and have already officially apologized to the veteran. The command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine strongly condemns such unlawful actions,” the post states.
