Authorities have revealed where foreign workers are coming from to work in Ukraine
The State Migration Service of Ukraine has released official statistics that completely refute the widespread false claims about a "migrant influx."
This is discussed in a special report by Glavkom.
According to the published data, the actual situation regarding the official employment of foreigners remains under control and strictly regulated.
Among foreigners who received work permits in Ukraine, the largest groups are citizens of Turkey, India, and Uzbekistan.
The top ten countries whose citizens most frequently received work permits in Ukraine in 2025 also included Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, China, Pakistan, Colombia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Analysts and immigration officials point out an important legal detail of this process.
It is also noted that obtaining a work permit does not mean that a foreigner will automatically arrive in Ukraine and begin working. This is only the first stage of a lengthy and complex bureaucratic procedure.
The actual relocation of a specialist to Ukraine requires significant time and effort on the part of the employer.
Once the employer finds an employee and drafts an employment contract, the process of obtaining work and transit visas can take three to six months.
During this period, government agencies thoroughly vet the candidates.
The final decision on border crossing is made directly at the border checkpoints. Furthermore, even having a visa does not guarantee that a foreigner will be allowed to enter Ukraine.
The Border Guard Service has the right to deny entry to a person if there are doubts regarding the purpose of their visit.
