The owner of Zaporizhzhia’s largest shopping mall, which was destroyed by Russia, has promised to rebuild it

Arricano has promised to rebuild the City Mall shopping and entertainment center in Zaporizhzhia, which was virtually destroyed by a Russian strike on September 7. The development company noted that there were no casualties during the attack, but the destruction of the facility was a severe blow to the team, tenants, and hundreds of employees at the mall.

The complex’s owner emphasized its intention to make every effort to restore the facility and provide city residents with the necessary goods and services. This strike on the Zaporizhzhia complex marks the second time Arricano property has been hit in the past three weeks; on August 21, the “Sunny Gallery” shopping and entertainment center in Kryvyi Rih was destroyed by a drone attack.

City Mall is Zaporizhzhia’s largest shopping and entertainment complex, with a retail area of over 23,400 square meters—more than twice the size of the city’s second-largest shopping mall, “Aurora.” Despite the challenges of the frontline region, the company’s shareholders and team have worked for years to keep their facilities operational, restoring them after damage and preserving jobs.

This is stated in a press release from Arricano.

The City Mall shopping and entertainment complex in Zaporizhzhia will be closed throughout September 2026. The complex’s administration announced the temporary closure in an official statement.

As a reminder, the “Karavan” shopping and entertainment complex in Dnipro is once again operating as usual after the aftermath of the Russian attack on the night of August 25 was cleared up.
