Owners of destroyed homes have been exempted from paying for gas: what has changed

The NEURC adopted a decision exempting owners of damaged or destroyed housing from paying natural gas distribution fees if the house or apartment cannot be used due to its unsafe technical condition.

Additionally, fees for the maintenance of in-building gas systems in apartment buildings will no longer be charged. Furthermore, consumers are exempt from the obligation to submit monthly gas meter readings during the period when gas cannot be used.

The regulator noted that the changes bring the regulations into line with a law that took effect in April and governs the calculation of utility bills for housing damaged or destroyed as a result of the war.
