The driver of the evacuation vehicle was taken to the TCC while people were being evacuated from Kherson
In the Mykolaiv region, the driver of a Ukrainian Red Cross evacuation vehicle was transported to the regional mobilization center during the evacuation of civilians from Kherson.
On August 14, the crew was transporting two families from a dangerous area of Kherson to the Kyiv region. Among those evacuated were a man with a high amputation of both lower limbs, a three-year-old child, a grandmother, and a woman with cancer.
Near Shevchenkove, police stopped the vehicle to check the driver’s documents. According to Mykola Taranenko, commander of the Kherson Rapid Response Unit of the Ukrainian Red Cross, the driver was initially suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and was asked to take a test, but was later taken to the territorial mobilization center.
The Red Cross stated that due to the situation, they may suspend evacuations from Kherson.
The Mykolaiv Regional Police reported that during the check, it was determined that the driver did not have an exemption and was subject to mobilization. He was taken to the TCC, and another driver was found for the evacuees, who transported them to their destination.
At the same time, the regional police leadership has launched an internal investigation to verify the legality of the police officer’s actions during the document check, the detention, and the transport of the driver.

The head of the Transcarpathian Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support has been suspended from duty. At the same time, an audit of the operations of the TCC and SS system will be conducted in Transcarpathia.
