Death of a Construction Worker in Volosyanka, Lviv Region: Investigation Underway
In the village of Volosyanka in the Stryi District, a 29-year-old rebar worker fell from the fifth floor while performing steel structure installation work at an unfinished construction site. As a result of the fall, the local resident sustained severe injuries and died in the hospital the following day. This was reported by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to preliminary data, the man fell from a height of more than 18 meters. A pretrial investigation has been launched into this incident under Part 2 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of safety rules while performing high-risk work, resulting in loss of life).
Law enforcement officials are currently establishing all the circumstances of the incident and identifying those responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational safety requirements. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by Police Department No. 3 of the Stryi District Police Department under the procedural supervision of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office.
In the Republic of Poland on Friday, August 9, a Ukrainian citizen died at a construction site for a new gas pipeline.
A Ukrainian construction worker also died in Poland. He fell while working on the construction of a residential complex in the Polish city of Łódź.
