Zelenskyy explained why Israel was not included in the international tour
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he had no contact with Israel—neither at the political nor the expert level—while preparing for his international tour.
He made this statement during an online conversation with journalists.
“I spoke with the leaders, and at our level we agreed on specific details. After that, our expert group traveled there. Once the expert assessment was prepared, I embarked on this tour and met directly with the leaders—based on the agreements reached, which served as the foundation for further dialogue. I had no contact whatsoever with Israel: neither by phone nor at the expert level,” Zelenskyy noted.
The president explained that the itinerary was developed in stages: first, political details were coordinated with the leaders of other countries, then expert groups prepared the groundwork for negotiations. Only after this preparation was completed was the final list of countries to be visited determined.
According to Zelenskyy, Israel was not included on the list due to the lack of prior contacts at the appropriate level.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a strategically important meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan, focusing on strengthening security partnerships.
Recall that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that during his visit to the Middle East, he reached an agreement on the supply of diesel fuel to Ukraine for at least one year.
Zelenskyy also signed an agreement with Qatar on missile defense.
