Zelenskyy Congratulated Poland on Armed Forces Day
On August 15, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Poland on the 106th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw and Armed Forces Day. The head of state emphasized the role of the Ukrainian military in defending Warsaw against the Bolshevik offensive and drew a parallel with the current joint struggle against Russian aggression.
“We remember how the fate of the Polish people and the Polish state was decided in that battle, and how the Bolsheviks’ advance was halted through joint efforts. One hundred and six years ago, Ukrainian troops helped Poland’s defenders hold Warsaw and halt the Bolsheviks’ advance westward,” the President of Ukraine wrote on social media platform X.
Zelenskyy emphasized that, just as during the struggle for freedom in the past, the united efforts of nations are of decisive importance today.
“And today, Moscow must be defeated just the same. And today, the united efforts of nations matter just as much. And today, the fate of nations is being decided just the same—the fate of Ukraine and our neighboring countries. We remember how much we can achieve by helping one another. We are fighting for freedom,” he wrote.
As a reminder, Poland held the largest military parade in the country’s history.
