Heavy rains and hail flooded streets and homes in several regions of Ukraine

Heavy downpours accompanied by hail struck Kryvyi Rih, Chernivtsi, Lviv, Dnipro, and Poltava, turning some streets into rivers. The heavy rainfall caused flooding in the cities and damage to infrastructure in several regions. 

Kryvyi Rih was hit hardest by the storm, where damaged roofs caused water to seep into the entryways of apartment buildings. In Chernivtsi, the downpour flooded streets and damaged ceilings in some restaurants, and the storm also affected the central regions of the country.

On the morning of July 14, Lviv was hit by a heavy downpour accompanied by a thunderstorm, which caused flooding of streets, vehicles, and residential buildings. During the storm, lightning struck the city’s TV tower, and power outages were reported in some areas.

Heavy rain in the Rivne region led to flooding on a section of the M-06 Kyiv–Chop international highway near the village of Varkovychi. This caused a traffic jam stretching for several kilometers, and police were forced to implement alternating traffic flow.
