55 clashes on the front lines: the heaviest fighting is taking place in the Sloviansk and Kostiantynivka sectors
Since the start of the day, Russian troops have attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders 55 times. The situation remains most tense in the Sloviansk and Kostiantynivka sectors, where the heaviest fighting is taking place. The enemy also continues to shell border areas in the Sumy region and is attempting to exert pressure on several sections of the front.
The Russian army has not ceased its assault operations along the front line. As of midday, Ukrainian forces had already recorded 55 combat engagements. The occupiers have concentrated most of their attacks in the east of the country.
In addition to assaults, the enemy continues to shell Ukraine’s border territories. Today, the following settlements in the Sumy region came under fire: Neskuchne, Volfyne, Korenok, Kysla Dubyna, Hirky, Ryzhivka, and Khodine. Tovstodubove was hit by an airstrike.
What’s Happening in the North
Four combat engagements took place in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors. Two of them are still ongoing. The occupiers also carried out 16 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and border settlements. One of these involved the use of a multiple launch rocket system.
The situation in the Kharkiv region
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, Russian troops twice attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses near Khatne. Another attack is ongoing in the Kupiansky direction. The enemy is attempting to advance toward Novoosynove.
The Heaviest Fighting Is in the East
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian forces repelled three Russian attempts to advance in the areas of Drobysheve and Dibrova. The enemy is currently most active in the Sloviansk sector. Here, the occupiers have already attacked Ukrainian positions 13 times in the direction of Kryva Luka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, as well as near Riznykivka and Zakytne.
Two engagements are still ongoing. On the Kramatorsk front, Russian forces carried out one attack toward Malynivka. The situation on the Kostiantynivka front remains even more challenging.
Here, Ukrainian defenders have already repelled 14 attacks near Kostyantynivka, Ivanopil, Illinivka, Stepanivka, and Toretsk. Four more battles are ongoing in this sector of the front.
Pokrovsk Sector
In the Pokrovsk sector, the occupiers made eight attempts to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions. Fighting took place near Rodynske, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Muravka, as well as in the direction of Ivanivka, Shevchenko, and Serhiivka.
Situation on the Zaporizhzhia Front
On the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian forces have already repelled nine attacks by Russian troops. The enemy advanced in the Dobropillia area, as well as toward Vozdvizhivka and Charivne. Meanwhile, Russian forces have not yet carried out any offensive operations today in the Oleksandrivka, Orikhiv, and Dnipro sectors.
On other sections of the front
According to the General Staff, there have been no significant changes in other sectors so far. No new attempts by Russian troops to advance have been recorded. The General Staff emphasized that Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy’s advance along the entire front line and inflict losses on them. “Ukrainian troops are wearing down the enemy along the entire line of contact and in the rear,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted.
As a reminder, Russian occupiers attacked a combine harvester with a drone while it was working in a field near Novopetrivka in the Zaporizhzhia district. A 30-year-old man was injured in the strike, and the agricultural machinery was completely destroyed.
In addition, Russian troops launched a drone strike on the Kyiv district of Kharkiv, injuring three people. The enemy attack also damaged a car carrying civilians and a vehicle belonging to one of the city’s municipal utilities.
On July 3, Russian troops attacked the Sofiivska community in the Kryvyi Rih district of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. One person was killed in the strike, five others were injured, and a gas station was damaged.
Over the past day, Russian troops carried out a series of attacks on Mykolaiv and communities in Mykolaiv Oblast, killing one person and wounding seven others. Gas stations, businesses, warehouses, vehicles, and residential buildings were damaged.
On the night of July 3, Russian troops attacked a residential area in the city of Lozova with a strike drone. Six people were injured in the attack, including three children, and rescue workers freed five residents from a cellar.
In addition, Russian troops carried out 880 strikes on 62 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region over the past 24 hours. As a result of massive attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district, 11 people were wounded, including four children.
Over the past day, 273 combat engagements were recorded on the front lines. Ukrainian forces continue to repel the advance of Russian occupation forces, inflicting significant losses on the enemy in terms of personnel, equipment, and military infrastructure.
On the night of July 3, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with two X-59/69 guided air-to-ground missiles and 105 strike and decoy drones. Air defense forces destroyed or intercepted 83 aerial targets.
On the night of July 1, Russian troops launched a massive attack with strike drones on the Dnipropetrovsk region.
As a reminder, on the evening of June 30, Russian forces attacked an electric locomotive in the Dnipropetrovsk region with a drone. There were no casualties, as the locomotive crew was warned of the danger in time, and the workers managed to take cover.
Ukrainian drones struck eight of the ten largest Russian oil refineries by processing volume, with some facilities being hit multiple times.
