Eight civilians were wounded in a single day in the Kherson region
Throughout the day, Russian troops continued shelling and drone attacks on the Kherson region. As of this evening, eight people are known to have been wounded, including healthcare workers and employees of a municipal utility company.
Residential neighborhoods, medical facilities, transportation, and civilian infrastructure were targeted. Law enforcement officials have already launched an investigation into Russia’s latest war crimes. According to the investigation, on Saturday, July 11, the Russian army shelled settlements in the region with artillery and actively deployed attack drones. “As of 5:30 p.m., eight people were reported injured as a result of the Russian aggression,” the prosecutor’s office said.
The highest number of casualties was in Kherson, where six local residents were injured as a result of attacks by Russian drones. Another victim is a resident of the village of Kucherske, who was also caught in a drone attack. Among the injured are two employees of a healthcare facility. No information about their condition has been reported at this time.
Another incident occurred in the regional capital. An employee of a local utility company stepped on a Russian “petal”-type landmine and was injured. In addition to the casualties, the region’s civilian infrastructure sustained significant damage. According to the prosecutor’s office, Russian strikes damaged private homes, apartment buildings, a dormitory, agricultural equipment, business premises, medical facilities, a trolleybus, and private vehicles.
Law enforcement officers, rescue workers, and other relevant services are working at the sites of the shelling. They are documenting the consequences of the attacks and collecting evidence of yet another series of Russian war crimes. A pre-trial investigation into the Russian shelling has already been launched. Investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the attacks and verifying information regarding damaged property and possible new casualties.
