Russians struck the Kherson region; one person was killed and nine others were injured
Throughout August 27, Russian troops attacked the Kherson region with airstrikes, artillery, and drones. A civilian man was killed in the shelling, and nine other people were injured.
Throughout the day, Russian forces carried out strikes on Kherson and other settlements in the region. They used FPV drones to drop explosive devices, fired artillery, and conducted airstrikes. The most severe damage was reported in Kherson. In the morning, a Russian FPV drone attacked the city, killing a man born in 1967.
Throughout the day, Kherson was also repeatedly targeted by drone attacks. Seven civilians were injured as a result of strikes by FPV drones and the dropping of explosive devices. Another person was wounded as a result of a Russian airstrike on the city. Thus, at least nine civilians were affected in Kherson over the past day—including the fatality—and eight people were wounded.
Russian forces did not attack only the regional capital. In the village of Bilozerka, one person was also injured due to Russian shelling. Civilian infrastructure was damaged as a result of the attacks. In particular, Russian strikes damaged residential buildings, an educational institution, and civilian vehicles. Russian troops regularly attack Kherson and other settlements in the region. Strikes by FPV drones and the dropping of explosive devices on civilian areas remain particularly dangerous.
Over the past few months, residents of the Kherson region have regularly come under fire, prompting local authorities to urge people not to ignore air raid sirens and to take shelter whenever possible. According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the attacks on August 27 once again resulted in civilian deaths and injuries, as well as damage to residential and other civilian infrastructure. This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
Earlier, Russia launched a ballistic missile strike on a facility in Kryvyi Rih.
As a reminder, Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles.
Prior to that, Russia had attacked warehouses and energy facilities in the Odesa region.
