Part of occupied Crimea is without power due to damage to a substation
Parts of the temporarily occupied Crimean Peninsula were left without power due to technical malfunctions and damage to the energy infrastructure.
In particular, power went out for residents of Yalta, Feodosia, and the Black Sea region, causing significant inconvenience for the local population.
According to monitoring channels and the occupying entity “Krymenergo,” the causes of the widespread blackout have not been officially disclosed.
However, it has become known that on the night of March 28, the strategically important “Kafa” substation, located near Feodosia, was significantly damaged.
Currently, there is no precise data on the extent of the damage to the facility, but the scale of the power outage indicates the seriousness of the incident.
The 220 kV “Kafa” electrical substation is a key node of the energy bridge connecting the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation with occupied Crimea.
The cost of constructing this substation is estimated at 1.9 billion rubles, and its capacity is 250 MVA.
The facility serves as a distribution center where overhead lines between the Feodosia and Simferopol substations are connected.
The power supply situation on the peninsula remains unstable, as the “Kafa” substation has three feeders from the “Taman” substation.
Any interference with the operation of this node leads to a chain reaction and the disconnection of entire districts from the grid.
As a reminder, in occupied Crimea, transportation is operating in survival mode.
Ukrainian forces also struck an S-400, the Alchevsk plant, and a convoy of occupiers.
