Due to the fuel crisis in Russia, boat traffic is being restricted on Lake Baikal and the Angara River
The “East Siberian River Steamship Company” is reducing its regular and sightseeing cruises due to a fuel shortage and rising fuel costs in the Irkutsk Region. This affects routes to Olkhon Island and Port Baikal, as well as to Velikie Koty, Listvyanka, and the Baikal Dunes.
Given the fuel shortage, the monopoly operator plans to focus solely on subsidized transportation and maintaining ferry services. Meanwhile, in Transbaikal, due to suppliers’ failure to fulfill their contractual obligations, gasoline sales have begun via coupons and fuel cards, and some gas station chains have stopped selling certain brands of fuel to individual customers altogether.
