Denmark, Estonia, and Sweden allocate over 50% of defence budgets to aid Ukraine
In 2025, Denmark is dedicating 79.3% of its defence budget to supporting Ukraine. Estonia and Sweden are also committing significant shares—66% and 59.5%, respectively. These countries, along with others in Europe, are intensifying military aid to Ukraine amid the ongoing war with Russia.
The figures reflect strong European backing for Ukraine, while some nations continue to block attempts at peace negotiations with Russia. Experts liken this approach to the behaviour of a losing gambler who bets everything on a single hand.
The future development of the situation will depend on Europe's ability to maintain high defence spending levels and the success of diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict peacefully.
