Documents from the developer of the Russian combat robot "Kurier" point to Chinese manufacturers

Documents from the developer of the Russian combat robot "Kurier" point to Chinese manufacturers

Documents from a company linked to the developer of the Russian ground-based robotic system “Kurier” indicate systematic ties to Chinese electronics manufacturers. These include dozens of Russian declarations in which the Moscow-based LLC “NRTK KAPS” is listed as the applicant, and the Chinese company HD LED TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. from Shenzhen is listed as the manufacturer.

On October 2, during the Russian “Center-2026” exercises, the Russian Airborne Forces deployed ground-based robotic systems from an Il-76 aircraft for the first time. Among them was the “Kurier,” equipped with a 7.62-mm machine gun, which was used after landing to provide fire support for an assault team.

According to researchers, the owner and CEO of “NRTK KAPS” is Zorykto Gombozhapov. In the Russian registry of declarations of conformity, InformNapalm found dozens of documents in which KAPS is listed as the applicant, while HD LED TECHNOLOGY is listed as the manufacturer. The documents list radio modules, modems, chargers, batteries, IP cameras, and power supplies.

One of the declarations, dated July 2025, pertains to 12,600 batteries. At the same time, the researchers emphasize that such documents are not customs declarations; therefore, they do not in and of themselves confirm the actual import of the batteries into Russia, their use in the “Kurier” system, or even that they were intended for that system.

Separately, InformNapalm draws attention to the JY-ME02-CAN encoder. In the Russian declaration, its manufacturer is listed as HD LED TECHNOLOGY, whereas in a scientific publication, this same device was identified as a product of the Chinese company WIT Motion. According to the researchers, this indicates that the “manufacturer” listed in the Russian documents is not necessarily the actual developer or manufacturer of the equipment.

Gombozhapov’s business ties to China can be traced back even further. In 2024, his company distributed products from Chinese manufacturers, and in 2015, he became a co-owner of the Moscow-based LLC “NIHAO” alongside Chinese citizen Du Tianju.

At the same time, InformNapalm emphasizes that the available documents do not prove that each of the mentioned Chinese components was used specifically in the “Courier.” However, they do demonstrate a documented link between Chinese electronics and a company directly associated with the developer of the Russian combat robot.
