Drone surveillance of roads in Crimea will affect Russian civilians and tourists
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have established effective drone surveillance over key highways in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
This was announced on national television by Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy.
This move has posed a serious challenge to the logistical support of the Russian invaders and has already caused panic among the civilian population of the peninsula.
Currently, the Russian occupiers rely primarily on the so-called “land corridor” for their logistics. The main drawback of this route is its dangerous proximity to the front line.

The Ukrainian military has been preparing an operation to strike these routes for a long time, and now the threat to the enemy’s logistics has reached its peak.
The Navy spokesperson noted that new methods of warfare will primarily affect civilians who are illegally present on the Ukrainian peninsula.
Dmytro Pletenchuk explained: “Consequently, at some point we had to start targeting them there, and that moment has finally arrived. And while this will be a problem for the Russians, it will mostly be a problem for ordinary Russians, for illegal tourists heading to Ukrainian Crimea, or directly for those who are permanently in Crimea, because such logistics are vulnerable.”
The military leadership of the occupying forces is demonstrating a willingness to disregard human and material losses.
The invaders will continue to use dangerous routes to supply the army until the rate of equipment destruction reaches a critical threshold.
“At some point, they’ll just have to realize that the percentage of fuel trucks that don’t make it is higher than those that do. Then they’ll start to feel the pinch. But ordinary Crimean residents—and the non-locals who’ve ‘flocked’ there, as they say in Russia—are already feeling the problems and even posting about it online, which is actually quite risky on Russian territory,” the spokesperson said.
The Russian command is currently unable to respond quickly to threats and activate air defense to protect the routes.
Any countermeasures require the enemy to spend a significant amount of time, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not allow them.
